Since the launch of the fourth campaign, new Dungeon Master the talented storyteller has kept viewers on edge with deep backstory, a diverse cast of personalities, and a gripping narrative including angels, demons, and sinister influences increasing in influence within Dol-Makjar.
Heads-up: Key plot points for Episode 3 of this adventure follow below.
The Warrior Group Unveiled
The third episode finished on a major cliffhanger and presented the first table of adventurers who will separate from the central cast to begin their separate journey, distinct from the remaining groups.
This warrior group features Teor (portrayed by the voice actor), the agile character (Laura), the strong-willed figure (Whitney), Wicander (Sam Riegel), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie).
Why Split the Party?
With an extensive roster, it was obvious from the start that maintaining everyone at a single group would be unfeasible.
Hence, the initial installments of this story serve as an Prelude, weaving together the characters’ stories before dividing into three distinct groups: Warriors, Planners, and Seekers.
The Nature of the Warrior Group
Per the DM, the warrior group is for adventurers who are drawn to a typically action-packed fight-heavy narrative style where diplomatic options are few and far between.
Initially, figures such as the reluctant priest the cleric might seem unsuited, but the developments of the latest installment demonstrate why these five characters are perfectly fit for the combat party.
Reasons to Leave
To begin with, the team has a clear idea where to proceed after a violent opening clash with the antagonists.
An old friend of Thjazi—whose passing initiated the campaign’s events—used the foes for his selfish purposes, entering Thjazi’s hideout, striking the rogue, and stealing all the enchanted items to auction.
Casimir then cleared his debts and fled to a secure base in the remote area, north of Dol-Makjar, with Cyd close behind.
Character Drivers
Additionally, each adventurer has a personal reason to depart Dol-Makjar:
- Thimble, as Thjazi’s partner and trusted friend, desires retribution.
- The knowledgeable figure is familiar with the region and advises that it is a hostile environment.
- Tyranny and Wicander, having defied his relatives’ demands to execute Teor and instead saved him, have nowhere else to go.
- But, their position as important members in the influential clan could assist the party reach places they normally couldn’t.
- Moreover, The grateful character vowed a life debt to The savior for his salvation and will now go with him everywhere.
Wanted and Hunted
Finally, all of them are wanted by the powers that rule the setting for a variety of reasons, making lingering locally dangerous:
- The rogue and The hero are recognized lawbreakers.
- The warrior and The cleric turned against the powerful family and the horde of evil beings they are partnered with.
- Teor is wanted dead by House Halovar.
This leaves them no alternative but to travel to Timmony in pursuit of the traitor.
