Area Law Enforcement
Around fifty automobiles have been smeared with what seems to be human blood in the German town of Hanau close to Frankfurt, as reported by law enforcement.
Cars, exterior walls and postal boxes were defaced, occasionally with Nazi symbols, they reported in a official communication.
Officers report they were notified in the late hours on Wednesday, when a resident discovered that a automobile in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been marked with a reddish substance.
The fluid had been placed in the form of a banned symbol, they stated.
Law enforcement then located numerous other marked automobiles and building exteriors in the adjacent neighborhood.
Nazi symbols are prohibited in Germany under laws banning the visible presentation of symbols from the Nazi era.
Law enforcement say initial examinations indicate the liquid was likely blood from a person.
"There is still no clue as to its source; officials are currently not cognizant of any injuries in association with the occurrence," they commented.
Local authorities stated they were working "to unravel the incident" and have appealed to the public for tips.
A senior official commented the incident rendered him without words and needed to be resolved quickly.
"This event affects the very heart of Hanau and revives the pain of the extremist attack five years ago," he wrote on a platform, recalling the killing of nine individuals by a assailant targeting residents of immigrant origin in February 2020.
